Good application, very flexible
This is a good application.
My wife and I just moved 700 books into a couple of different Bookpedia libraries quickly and efficently using a barcode scanner. Lots of flexibility including ten custom renamable fields, several different views with customizable column order, collections and smart collections to group books in a variety of ways, good search and sorting capabilities. I added a Cuisine field for cookbooks, then was able to select individually a couple of dozen cookbooks from a collection of 500 and set their Cuisine column to "Mexican" in one step. Again, seems to be a very flexible application.
The database is in Sqlite so I was also able to extract some data, manipulate it in a particular way and put it back (not something everyone could do or would want to do, but I was happy it could be done).
The developer is very responsive both on their forum and in response to support emails. We were moving from BookCat on Windows and are very happy with Bookpedia (and have also now purchased their DVDpedia app).
